北宋政和六年（1116年）改寿州为寿春府，治所下蔡县（今安徽凤台县治），领县仍旧六：下蔡、六安、寿春、安丰、霍山、霍丘。辖境依旧，同寿州（957—1115年）界线。。政和八年（1118年）六安县建为军，辖境始变。①绍兴二年（1132年）下蔡县地入金，复改为寿州。
