元至元十三年（1276年）升镇江府为镇江路，治丹徒县，领丹徒、丹阳、金坛三县，属江淮行省，二十一年（1361年）属江浙行省（1）。天历二年（1329）建康路更名为集庆路，镇江路局部西界缩小。至正十六年三月（1356年4月）改为江淮府，同年十二月（1357年1月）改为镇江府（2）。
