明天启《士商类要》卷1《苏州由东坝至芜湖县水路》：溧阳县三十六里至南渡桥，十八里堑口，十八里过三塔荡至河口，二十七里定埠。核之今图，此路程系沿今溧淳运河，南渡、堑口、河口、定埠（属高淳县），今名犹存。清嘉庆《溧阳县志》卷2《舆地志》县西有河口村、嵩里、北庄等，地名均合，应是。`
