The goal of Geographic Object-Based Image Analysis (GEOBIA) is to segment remotely sensed images into meaningful image objects and then classify the objects based on photointerpretive elements such as texture, context, shape, and color. In this talk I will demonstrate GEOBIA using Trimble’s eCognition Developer software, describe research applications, and discuss the promise and pitfalls of the approach.
Lunch will be served.
