Title: Software tools for modern spatial econometrics

This talk will provide an overview of new software tool for spatial econometric analysis developed at the GeoDa Center for Geospatial Analysis and Computation. After a brief background and motivation, the focus will be on spreg, part of the PySAL Python library for geospatial analysis. spreg and the GUI-based GeoDaSpace contain fairly comprehensive functionality to estimate models for spatial lag, spatial error and spatial regimes specifications. The last part of the talk will present some ideas on a “spatial analytical workbench” and the associated spatial econometric functionality in CGPySAL that is part of an evolving CyberGIS infrastructure.

Location: CGIS Knafel K262
