New GIS Preceptor
 
In September, Summeeta Srinivasan joined CGA and the Government Department as a GIS preceptor. She is teaching GIS courses at FAS, and working on adding GIS short courses at HMS and HSPH in January. Summeeta has been affiliated with the China Project at Harvard University. Her research interests include the integration of transportation and land use planning and the use of quantitative methods to study urban growth. She has worked on urban issues in India, China and the US.  She has a PhD from MIT, Cambridge, MA., and has taught GIS and spatial analysis courses in DEAS Harvard, and Boston University.

Research Progress: Spatially Enabling HMDC ? requirements document 
The CGA has an ongoing research project on spatially enabling the Harvard-MIT Data Center quantitative social science datasets. ArcGIS Extension: Data Interoperability Now Available 
ArcGIS Extension: Data Interoperability is now available to Harvard GIS users through our GIS site license. To use this extension, you just need to activate it in ArcGIS 9.1. To learn more about what this extension can do, please visit ESRI website:
