Online poster gallery opens

24 posters submitted for the CGA launch event are now displayed at the online poster gallery. These posters show diverse use of GIS technology in many disciplines across Harvard University.

CGA Financial Model Overview

The Center for Geographic Analysis (CGA) has seed funding to provide basic services on a first come, first served basis. Such work is usually in short duration and is prioritized with other activities at the CGA. Long-term involvement or large technical service projects may require funding to guarantee the commitment of the CGA’s resources. If funding from grants or other sources is not available or sufficient, the CGA is authorized to provide discounted services in order to fulfill its mission, especially to first-time users of CGA services.

New visiting researcher

Nicole Alexander recently joined CGA as a part-time researcher. She is a full-time Principal Member of Technical Staff on the Oracle Spatial development team. Nicole has a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of California, Santa Barbara, a M.S. in Geographic and Geodetic Information Systems from the University of London, and a B.S. in Land Surveying from the University of the West Indies. Prior to working for Oracle Corporation, Nicole?s experience in the field of geomatics included, a data capture engineer/GIS specialist at Trimble, a GIS consultant at Fujitsu-ICL, and a land surveyor on the Channel Tunnel project linking England to France.
