China Learning Workshop
This workshop to be held on Wednesday, April 22, introduces China data, especially spatial (map-able) data, including demographic, economic, environmental, administrative, historical and more. Call for Submissions: Fisher Prize in GIS
Harvard’s “Howard T. Fisher Prize for Excellence in Geographic Information Science” was established in 1999 to promote and reward student work in this broad and potentially interdisciplinary area, from both undergraduate and graduate students at Harvard University.  The deadline for file submittal is 11:59 pm on Sunday, May 17, 2009. Travel Awards: UCGIS 2009 Summer Assembly

Assistant Professors (untenured) from University Consortium for GIS member institutions are invited to submit applications for Intergraph and ESRI Junior Faculty Travel Awards of $1,500.00 each to attend the 2009 UCGIS Summer Assembly, to be held at Bishop’s Lodge in Santa Fe, NM, June 22-23, 2009. The goal is to attract junior faculty from across the U.S. to participate in UCGIS activities, contribute to agenda-building in Geographic Information Science research and teaching, and to prepare junior faculty to play an active role in Geographic Information Science-related academic organizations in the future.
